Personal information
My name is Jari Eskelinen and I was born in 1982. I live in the city of Kuopio in the eastern Finland. I am systems designer working at Enfo Plc.
Fields of know-how
Special strenghts
I'm very fast learner when it comes to computers and computer science. This is due to my deep interest in computers beginning from my early childhood. When facing new challenges I always want to understand technology under user interface which enables me to act in new cituations by general 'instinct'. I believe this is proven by my work history.
Operating systems
I am Linux user and developer and also I have experience with Unix-systems like HP-UX, AIX, Solaris etc. Of course various releases Microsoft Windows are very familiar to me.
Networks
I have proficience to design and implement small networks and nework services. Data security is always one of my primary consideriation.
Databases
I have worked with SQL-databases long time as administrator and as software developer. Mostly I have used MS SQL Server and MySQL, but Oracle and PostreSQL have also been platforms I have programmed for.
Programming
I have been programming since childhood and I have used several languages in example Java, C, C++, Perl, PHP etc. Last years I have mostly programmed using Perl and I could say that Perl programming is one of my strongest points.
World Wide Web / Structured Documents
I'm very interested in creating content for WWW and I have studied standards like HTML, CSS and techniques like CGI and SSI. I honour standards and always make sure that my products will comply all of them if possible. I have used programming languages like Perl and PHP when creating dynamic content to WWW. Nowadays I have studied XML, SGML and XHTML.
Hardware
Especially PC hardware is familiar to me. I know components and their purposes and I can locate and replace dead components.
